What do the numbers mean?

E.g. 8 x 21     "8x" means that the object in view appears 8 times larger than when visualised with the naked eye. "21" is the size or diameter of the front (object) lens expressed in millimetres. A larger diameter lets in more light and makes the binoculars better in poor light conditions.
